Gluten Free Crackers
Last week, while traveling, I was once again surprised (more like shocked) by how expensive just basic Gluten Free Crackers have become. $4.99 for a small box, and the crackers taste more like sawdust than crackers? No, thank you!
So, if you know me well enough by now, you knew this was my sign to add a basic Gluten Free Cracker Recipe to the website for just a fraction of the cost.
These crackers are hearty, with a good snap, and remind me of pita chips — but better. I like to keep the base simple: a mix of gluten free flour (I use King Arthur Measure for Measure), a touch of olive oil (use the good stuff!), and just enough water to bring the dough together. From there, it’s a choose-your-own-adventure situation: rosemary and garlic for savory snack boards, everything bagel seasoning for a fun twist, or keep them basic with just a sprinkle of Maldon Flaky Sea Salt. While I haven’t tried this yet but I see a Parmesan and Black Pepper version happening in the very near future.
They bake up golden and crisp in under 30 minutes and store beautifully in an airtight container - though let’s be honest, they rarely make it past day two in this house.
